Make the Leprechauns green with envy

You won’t need Leprechauns’ magic to get things done. Find applications that might work magic on your wireless phone, whether you have a smartphone or one of Sprint’s consumer-friendly phones. In addition to the Android Market, Palm App Catalog and BlackBerry App World access on Sprint phones, Sprint is the first U.S. carrier to offer the GetJar catalog of more than 60,000 free applications to all its customers – including those with feature phones.

“At Sprint, we’ve opened up the world of apps to customers regardless of the type of phone they have,” said Len Barlik, vice president of Wireless and Wireline Services for Sprint. “From Android Market, which is available to customers with Android phones from Sprint like HTC Hero, to the GetJar catalog of apps that can be accessed on our feature phones, all Sprint customers now can find and download thousands of applications to help them stay informed, entertained and productive while on-the-go.”

Top St. Patrick’s Day Apps

For Sprint customers with Android devices HTC Hero™ with Google™ and Samsung Moment™ with Google™, thousands of apps are available through the Android Market, such as Irish Slang, a free app that gives users a dictionary of Irish slang terms right on their phone, and Shamrocks Solitaire, a card game with a St. Patrick’s Day theme to get you feeling the luck of the Irish.

Sprint customers with a Palm Pre or Palm Pixi can use the Palm App Catalog to download apps such as Irish Recipes, which provides easy-to-follow instructions for traditional Irish dishes.

Sprint customers with feature phones such as SCP-2700 by Sanyo can access the GetJar library to download apps such as DaysToGo, a free app that lets users count down the days, hours and minutes to their event. It’s perfect for watching the minutes left until your St. Patrick’s Day celebration gets under away.

Downloadable applications may require an additional charge. Casual data charges of $0.03/kb will apply to customers not on a plan with unlimited data.

Turn everything around you Green

Commit to go green this St. Patrick’s Day and recycle your old wireless devices with Sprint. As an industry leader in the reuse and recycling of wireless devices, Sprint has an aggressive, industry-first goal of reaching a 90 percent phone collection rate for reuse/recycling compared with annual wireless device sales by 2017. Sprint’s recently expanded Buyback program gives a financial incentive for current and new Sprint subscribers to trade in any eligible cell phone, regardless of manufacturer or carrier.

Designed to boost U.S. wireless recycling rates, Sprint’s Buyback program now offers an instant account credit to current and new Sprint subscribers who turn in up to three eligible wireless devices, per active line of service. Customers can take their unwanted phones to one of the more than 1,000 participating Sprint-owned retail stores nationwide.

Currently, more than 900 wireless devices are eligible for an instant account credit from Sprint. Device credits range in value from approximately $5 to more than $300 depending on the make and model of the device being turned in. Current credit amounts are listed on the “Eligible Phone Models” tab of the program Web site. To learn more about wireless recycling consumers can visit the Sprint wireless recycling Web site.
