Nexus Business Media, organiser of the ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communications) 2012 exhibition, has today announced a record breaking number of topics for its fast-growing Market Focus presentation platform.
Sponsored by Opnext, the 2012 Market Focus is set to be the biggest to date and will provide a significant opportunity for industry professionals to discuss current trends in the field. This year's programme will feature an even broader selection of informative and on-trend optical communications sessions.
Previous years have seen representatives from Google, Ericsson, Opnext, FTTH Council Europe, Nokia Siemens Networks and Deutsche Telekom take part in the Market Focus seminars.
The 2012 ECOC exhibition will be held at Amsterdam's RAI, from 17 to 19 September and the Market Focus forms an integral presentation arena within the exhibition.
This year's sessions will cover topics such as service provider optical transmission, optical network agility, data centre and optical interconnect technologies, test and measurement, packet-optical transport and mass-market broadband fibre access.
In addition, two brand new categories have also been added to the line up. 'Future Applications' will now be available as a speaking point for 2012. This strand of the session covers new devices and new applications, as well as optical communications in consumer electronics. 'Optical integration and Digital Photonics' will also be added to the list of subjects speakers will be able to choose from and will focus on progress in silicon photonics, chip-to-chip communications and more.
"The Market Focus is now in its seventh year and broke all records in 2011, with over 950 leading industry executives taking part. We are eager to expand upon this success and this year's sessions will again offer a relevant and varied programme for attendees," said Beverley Lucas, Group Event Manager for Nexus Business Media, organisers of the ECOC exhibition.
"We are constantly striving to provide stimulating and informative sessions for our visitors and this year's offering looks set to be bigger than ever," she added.
The topics have been chosen by the ECOC exhibition Advisory Panel who will be joined this year by Pierpaolo Ghiggino from SEMBARC. Ghiggino brings significant industry experience with him and will be instrumental in strengthening the skill set of the Advisory Panel.
The panel also includes representatives from telecom operators, system vendors, component manufacturers, industry analyst groups, independent industry bodies, and represents the breadth of technology in the optical communications sphere.
Individuals interested in speaking at the ECOC Market Focus should contact emma.calland@nexusmediaevents.com by Friday 27th June 2012.
