SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/11/12 -- SugarSync, a free service that actively syncs your folders and files across all your computers and mobile devices, today announced that it is the recipient of the MobileTrax 2012 Mobility Award for the best Mobile Software for Productivity at this year's CTIA.
"The Mobility Awards have honored the brightest innovators in mobile computing and wireless data communications products and services for the past 16 years. This year there was stiff competition for the 450 products and services which were nominated in the 63 categories," said J.Gerry Purdy, Ph.D., Principal Analyst with MobileTrax LLC in a released statement.
SugarSync also announced that it was selected as the winner of two 2012 Mobile Merit Awards, while also being declared the runner up in two additional categories. SugarSync was declared the winner for "Best iPhone App" and "Best Android App", while it received Runner-Up in the "Best iPad/Tablet App" and "Best Overall Consumer App" categories.
It was also announced today that SugarSync has been selected as a finalist in the 2012 "Stevie" American Business Awards. SugarSync is a finalist in the "Best Apps - Utilities & Services" category.
"More people than ever before are using the Cloud to keep their digital lives in sync, especially on their mobile devices. The fact that SugarSync continues to receive awards for having the best Cloud service and mobile apps is a strong validation of our approach," said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync. "Unlike other Cloud solutions that force you to put all of your files, photos, music and videos in one special folder, SugarSync enables you to work the way you already work by syncing as many of your existing folders as you want."
SugarSync has long been the most mobile Cloud solution, with the widest support of mobile devices in the industry. In addition to supporting both Windows and Mac operating systems, SugarSync has dedicated apps for nearly every mobile platform, including iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Mobile (with Windows Phone 7 coming soon).
