TP-LINK's Family of Wireless N Routers Now 4G Compatible to Provide Cost Efficient Mobile Internet Hotspot

Pair routers with 4G USB modem to create a 4G mobile hotspot at home or on the go

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TP-LINK announced today that their family of 3G/3.75G Wireless N Routers is now 4G compatible with major wireless mobile phone carriers such as Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. The Portable Battery-Powered Wireless N Router (TL-MR3040) is an ideal travel companion to enable up to 5 devices to access the Internet simultaneously on the 4G mobile network.  The Wireless N Routers for home networks (TL-MR3220 and TL-MR3420) can now provide 4G mobile Internet as a back up at home when your DSL or cable service is down.

Mobile users that pairs TL-MR3040 with a 4G USB modem vs. a 4G portable hotspot from a wireless carrier can save about $20 dollars per month. Since most carriers also require a minimum of two-year contract, total savings could be up to $480 dollars per contract term. You can avoid extra charges without having to pay for a hotspot contracted through your wireless carrier. Simply purchase your own device and plug in the USB modem stick to create the same mobile hotspot.

A recent product review that appeared at Gdgt.com called the TL-MR3040 a very good portable router based on its internal 2000mAh battery that lasts up to 4 hours at full 802.11n range and speed. The reviewer also noted the ease-of-use, great Wi-Fi speed and easy set-up. You can read the full review at http://gdgt.com/tp-link/tl-mr3040/reviews/sju/

A customer review that appeared on Newegg.com described how the TL-MR3040 provided a lower cost option to tether his Apple tablet to the Internet without maxing out his phone plan monthly data limits.  He was able to purchase an Internet stick and pre-paid broadband card from his wireless mobile carrier.  You can read the full review at http://bit.ly/RfIpyZ

TP-LINK's family of 3G/4G Wireless N Routers also include the following products:

"TP-LINK makes it easy to stay connected using multiple devices wherever your busy life takes you, including at home, the airport, hotel and even in your vehicle. Since all wireless carriers are selling 4G USB modems now and no longer offering 3G, TP-LINK has made the technology upgrade to ensure 4G compatibility for their users" said Lewis Wu, the Director of Sales at TP-LINK USA. "The existing inventory of 3G/3.75G Wireless N Routers is being phased out and the 3G/4G products will be in retail channels beginning November 2012."

When people aren’t talking about VMs and containers, they’re talking about serverless architecture. Serverless is about no maintenance. It means you are not worried about low-level infrastructural and operational details. An event-driven serverless platform is a great use case for IoT. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Animesh Singh, an STSM and Lead for IBM Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, will detail how to build a distributed serverless, polyglot, microservices framework using open source tec...
IoT offers a value of almost $4 trillion to the manufacturing industry through platforms that can improve margins, optimize operations & drive high performance work teams. By using IoT technologies as a foundation, manufacturing customers are integrating worker safety with manufacturing systems, driving deep collaboration and utilizing analytics to exponentially increased per-unit margins. However, as Benoit Lheureux, the VP for Research at Gartner points out, “IoT project implementers often ...

In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed cloud as a ‘better data center’ and how it adds new capacity (faster) and improves application availability (redundancy). The cloud is a ‘Dynamic Tool for Dynamic Apps’ and resource allocation is an integral part of your application architecture, so use only the resources you need and allocate /de-allocate resources on the fly.
It is one thing to build single industrial IoT applications, but what will it take to build the Smart Cities and truly society changing applications of the future? The technology won’t be the problem, it will be the number of parties that need to work together and be aligned in their motivation to succeed. In his Day 2 Keynote at @ThingsExpo, Henrik Kenani Dahlgren, Portfolio Marketing Manager at Ericsson, discussed how to plan to cooperate, partner, and form lasting all-star teams to change t...

There are several IoTs: the Industrial Internet, Consumer Wearables, Wearables and Healthcare, Supply Chains, and the movement toward Smart Grids, Cities, Regions, and Nations. There are competing communications standards every step of the way, a bewildering array of sensors and devices, and an entire world of competing data analytics platforms. To some this appears to be chaos. In this power panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, Bradley Holt, Developer Advocate a...
Connected devices and the industrial internet are growing exponentially every year with Cisco expecting 50 billion devices to be in operation by 2020. In this period of growth, location-based insights are becoming invaluable to many businesses as they adopt new connected technologies. Knowing when and where these devices connect from is critical for a number of scenarios in supply chain management, disaster management, emergency response, M2M, location marketing and more. The cloud market growth today is largely in public clouds. While there is a lot of spend in IT departments in virtualization, these aren’t yet translating into a true “cloud” experience within the enterprise. What is stopping the growth of the “private cloud” market? In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Nara Rajagopalan, CEO of Accelerite, explored the challenges in deploying, managing, and getting adoption for a private cloud within an enterprise. A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...
