DALLAS, Texas, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness held its 3rd Annual Charity Golf Event at Tour 18 on October 25th with funds benefiting mental illness charities. The golf tournament is one of the annual fundraising events that support the foundation's initiatives.

Several celebrities participated including NFL football players and Texas Ranger baseball players along with Nashville recording artist, Rachel Holder. Seven members of the Wounded Warriors Project joined in the activities, including Jason Wakefield who was not only on the winning team, but also won closest to the pin. Team Rosenberger Site Solutions won first place this year.
Sponsors and participants included many of the leading companies in the wireless communications industry, thanks to the support of MTPCS, LLC, d.b.a. Cellular One, Carolina West Wireless, CHAT Mobility, Telispire, and Sprint. Title Sponsors were Planet Cellular and Zip Wireless. Platinum Sponsors were the Time Group, Huawei, ClearSky Technologies, Quality One Wireless, and Travaluation. Beneficiaries of the event included Operation Resilient Families, a program of the Texas chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness for returning military personnel, the Montana chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Active Minds, which develops student run chapters at over 300 colleges and universities to help provide information, support, and awareness to college communities.
