LONDON, November 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Even though iPhone 5 has just been announced, iPhone 4S is still a force to be reckoned with. Portable, powerful and stylish, T3 even found it still fits the business need better than any other smartphone, the S III included. How did it manage to grab a crown like Work Gadget of the Year?
T3, no strangers to tech, found that the dual core A5 chip that powers iPhone 4S was mighty, delivery plenty of power that enabled it to carry out anything a business user will need. Remember that it's a big step up in speed when compared to iPhone 4, and not just the incremental increase that many will have you believe.
Along with the improved processor, the camera on the back of iPhone 4S saw an increase to 8MP, making it one of the sharpest and versatile shooters on the market. Along with cleverly worked image processing software, the new camera gives startlingly high quality photographs across a whole range of scenes. There's also the small matter of 1080p HD video recording.
Then, there's Siri, iPhone 4S's personal assistant, able to answer questions, open apps and set you reminders, among other things. But the real deal clincher was iOS 5. Slick and simple to use, the learning curve is so flat that learning to use its huge array of features takes no time at all. The last thing you need is to be slowed down for a fortnight while learning the ropes.
The iOS App Store is also home to some 700,000 apps, many of them specifically designed for the business user, from document and spread sheet programs to sales management software. 'There's an app for that' was a phrase coined out of truth, after all. While competing app stores are growing, and even catching Apple's offering, iPhone 4S still has the most, and apps also arrive for the device before they do for the competition.
There's also the small matter of price. Now that iPhone 5 is out in the open, the price for iPhone 4S have dropped significantly. High street and online retailer Carphone Warehouse is offering iPhone 4S free from £29, meaning that not only are you getting Work Gadget of the Year, you're also getting a great value deal at the same time.
