NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/28/12 -- Savvy Penny is a powerful tool that manages the full digital coupon and promotion life cycle, from design to distribution, and from processing to redemption for retailers and manufacturers. This in-store digital system is the only technology that utilizes Bluetooth to deliver in-store promotions to the consumer directly at point-of-sale. Retailers and manufacturers have the ability to limit coupons, cap savings for a particular brand, or they can rapidly create new or alter existing savings that they are offering with the Savvy Penny system. Consumer packaged goods companies benefit by this seamless transaction that allows the retailer to validate coupons on the spot, eliminating fraud which is a paramount issue in coupon redemption today. D'Agostino, one of New York's premier grocery retailers, is the first to welcome Savvy Penny in Manhattan's West Village neighborhood at 666 Greenwich Street. The implementation in an additional 13 D'Agostino stores expected to follow shortly.
Easy and convenient, the Savvy Penny system eliminates the need for customers to clip coupons in advance of heading out to buy groceries. At no cost, shoppers simply register at the Savvy Penny kiosk by entering their mobile phone number to create their account. Once registered, shoppers then select offers from preferred brands using the touch screens located directly on shelves in the supermarket aisles. Savings are instantaneously delivered to registered users upon checkout through the Bluetooth technology. This also creates a huge opportunity for consumer packaged goods companies to capture the attention of shoppers who may be loyal to a particular brand, but are willing to switch at the time of purchase based on the discount offered at point-of-sale. Shoppers can look forward to coupon savings of up to $50 which may be redeemed at check-out and their savings are reflected on the printed receipt just as they are with paper coupons.
"D'Agostino represents the best of New York grocers and we are proud to be kicking off the next stage of our growth in the Northeast with a company that has been seen as a leader in implementing innovative ways to deliver value to their customers," says Juan Carvallo, Implementation Manager of Savvy Penny. Says, Nicholas D´Agostino III, "Our partnership with Savvy Penny allows us to stay in lockstep with the technology that our shoppers are using. In the end, we want to deliver savings in a way that makes sense and the process couldn't be easier."
Savvy Penny makes a promise to never share, sell, call or text the customer's mobile number. For more information please visit www.savvypenny.com.
