SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/05/12 -- Varolii Corporation, a market leader in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) customer interaction management, today announced that Will Cousins has joined the company as vice president of product management and strategy. Cousins brings more than 17 years of experience leading product management, engineering and marketing functions at Fortune 100 and early stage companies in the mobile and wireless, enterprise software, and utilities industries. In this role, he will oversee product strategy and continued expansion of the Varolii Interact Platform for smartphone, voice, email and text-based customer interactions in the healthcare, financial services, utilities, telecommunications and retail industries.
"Will is an experienced software executive who brings deep expertise in mobility, enterprise software and SaaS solutions to the company. His valuable experience in identifying clients' business needs and driving efficient product innovation strategy processes to our leadership team will help deliver the right solutions to help our customers reach their potential," said Dave McCann, Varolii Chief Executive Officer. "He joins us at a critical juncture, as we roll out our next wave of innovation on the proven Varolii platform in use by many of the Fortune 500."
Most recently, Cousins served as executive vice president of product and engineering at GridPoint, a company specializing in smart energy solutions with more than 10,000 energy management and solar energy systems installed across the U.S., Canada and Europe. In this role, he was responsible for all product development and management, including QA, software and hardware development for smart grid applications, energy efficiency solutions and renewable integration offers. He also drove product planning and integration efforts for acquired clean technology assets, which led to increased year-over-year growth.
Prior to GridPoint, Cousins served as vice president of marketing and product management at Twisted Pair Solutions, a world leader in software-based radio interoperability and Radio over IP unified communications. He has also served as global mobile operator marketing manager for mobile and embedded devices at Microsoft, where he built and launched the Microsoft Speech Server partner program. Additionally, he has held senior management positions at AT&T Wireless in the Wireless Data Division working on the first browser-based cell phone and the MMS group working on WiFi and BlackBerry. He has also worked for a Seattle area start-up developing patented wireless location-based services for global operators.
"Varolii's business model of providing SaaS-based applications for B2C customer interaction management, optimized by experience-based consumer preferences, really struck me as very appropriate for today's digital consumer market where large brands want to accomplish better reach and outcomes," said Cousins. "In today's digital world, companies struggle to orchestrate that personal level of communication with customers across a myriad of business units, channels and devices. Varolii makes that much easier with its cloud-based, cross-channel platform and personalization engine," he added. "I look forward to applying my experience to drive continued innovations to help companies enhance engagement along every step of the customer interaction lifestyle."
