TigerText, the leader in secure real time messaging, announced today that they will be hosting a free webinar with MobiHealthNews on December 13th at 2PM EST/11AM PST that highlights texting in healthcare and solutions for better healthcare communication in the 21st century.
TigerText President and Co-Founder Brad Brooks will discuss the role that SMS should and shouldn’t play in physician-to-physician communications. While SMS text messaging is rapidly becoming the preferred method of communication among physicians, its lack of security and compliance with HIPAA regulations has deterred many organizations from embracing its adoption into care coordination. Brooks’ presentation will outline the inefficiencies in today’s healthcare communication flow as well as the attributes that will define the 21st century communication solution for better communication and improved patient care.
Dr. Ernie Guzman, M.D., Program Director of Pediatric Residency at Adventist White Memorial Hospital, will join Brooks in the conversation about communication solutions, discussing implementation of TigerText in the pediatric residency program and its impact in facilitating better care communication and coordination at Adventist White Memorial.
In addition, MobiHealthNews’ Managing Editor Brian Dolan will discuss the rise of text messaging in healthcare with a focus on patient-facing services and programs. While more than 50 percent of adults in the United States have a smartphone today, almost everyone has some kind of mobile phone. Therefore, the most accessible mobile health applications in the market today are SMS-based – no iPhone required. Many providers recognize the power of text messages for various patient services – this presentation will include a roundup and analysis of the trend.
