The research firm states broadband penetration will exceed 650 million households worldwide and nearly 430 million households worldwide will have a data network this year.

"Trends, Technologies, and Ecosystems: Evolution of the Digital Home" cites strong consumer demand for new technologies and devices but shows consumers are reluctant to incur additional service fees, especially as they receive multiple offerings from many different providers. Parks Associates highlighted these key issues during the firm's 7^th Annual CONNECTIONS™ Summit at CES on January 8, featuring over 20 speakers from the digital-home industries.

Tablet owners watch six hours of video on the device per week.

Just 10% of U.S. broadband households want to rent and watch video through a social networking site.
