NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- According to the real estate experts on Realtypin.com, the job market has a huge effect on the housing market. And while both markets are starting to show progress, there are still plenty of people without jobs. So, if you're working from home – maybe as a freelancer, because your company is trying to cut costs by having employees telecommute, or even to look for a new job – you need a great place to do it. But how do you create a home office without spending an arm and a leg? After all, you want to use this space to MAKE money, not SPEND it!
Home selling tips from RealtyPin.com: Home Selling Mastery
1. "Shop" in your own house
Before you run out to an expensive furniture store, do some "shopping" around your own house. For example, you may have tucked a chair away in the attic that may be perfect for your new office – but forgot all about it. Or, that old table that's been collecting dust in the hallway might make a perfect desk.

2. Forget about the office supply stores
As exciting as it can be to see aisles and aisles of file folders, pens, and notepads, those office supply stores aren't the cheapest way to stock your new home office. You can get pens, paper, and all kinds of other great office supplies at your local dollar store for a fraction of the price, and the quality of the products will be just as good. For the "bigger" stuff – like furniture and lighting – look around at your local thrift shops and flea markets. You'll get to save some money AND get something that has a whole lot more character than the mass-produced stuff in the retail stores!

3. Scrap the landline
If you have a cell phone with a reliable connection, that's all you need. Landlines are an expense you don't need, and as an added benefit, your cell phone can go anywhere with you – so you'll never have to worry about missing a business call. If you think you need to have a landline in order to have a fax machine, think again. Faxes are rare these days, and it will actually be cheaper in the long run to send any faxes from someplace else (like your local pack and ship retailer) than it will be to have a dedicated fax line.

4. Cool it with the printing
The less you print, the less paper and replacement ink you'll have to buy. And, as an added benefit, you won't have to buy a huge filing cabinet to store all of your paperwork if you don't print it out!
