Award-winning shoe designer, Julian Hakes, has successfully made the transition from designing structures to designing women's shoes, and women all over Europe have taken notice. Last week, at the FFANY shoe show in New York City, buyers saw what women in Europe have known all along...Julian Hakes is the real deal.

Hakes is launching his much desired shoe line in the United States for the first time and distributors have been lining up to be among the first to carry the shoes worn by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow.

"It's a design that is unlike others. It's clean, sleek, sexy and very European" says Luisa Bursey a sales consultant for Omega Distribution.  Before the shoe line was officially introduced to the American market, several boutiques in the Mid-West and Louisiana dashed to place orders for the unparalleled shoe design.

FFANY hosted the New York Shoe Expo last week, home to exhibitions of over 300 footwear manufacturers representing 800 fashion footwear brands. The newest shoe fashions were displayed with much fanfare and the Mojito collection was among one of them. The press appeared to be extremely interested as they tweeted, took pictures, and wrote about the uniquely designed shoe, the "Mojito".

Hakes has provided footwear collections at London Fashion Week for Swedish fashion designer Ann Sofie Back Atelier and London designer Ada Zanditon. Julian Hakes' first collection has since been published widely including Forbes, Vogue Italy and Elle.

Hakes has now formed a joint venture with Omega Distribution LLC which will expand their market share across the United States and Latin America. Omega Distribution will be showcasing the shoe at FN Platform - Las Vegas, February 19th – 2st, 2013 in the British Footwear Association section booth # 60602.  The "Mojito" will also be seen at ENK / Sole Commerce, Javits Galleria, level 4, booth # 204 in New York, February 24th - 26th, 2013.

Hakes is now busy creating a unique stylish boot and expects to have the first collection available by fall of 2014.

Julian Hakes is also proud to be an approved brand for Swarovski Elements and he has also recently been awarded the Drapers award for "Best footwear designer of the year 2012".
