(August 16, 2002) - Abaco, Inc. has announced the success of its initiative to enable enterprise application functionality from J2METM-based BlackBerryTM handhelds from Research In Motion (RIM). Abaco's Atoma mobile enterprise framework now helps extend the functionality of the BlackBerry solution by enabling mobile professionals to access important corporate applications and data. Using its patent pending technologies for transaction-based synchronization, mobile application development, sophisticated device and peripheral support, and robust SAP connectivity including support for BAPI, IDOC, and RFC interfaces, Atoma now supports J2ME-based applications utilizing RIM's recently announced Mobile Data Service feature for BlackBerry Enterprise Server. In keeping with Abaco's track record of technological innovation, experience, and leadership in the enterprise mobile space, Atoma also provides advanced peripheral support features that enable printing and credit card transactions from BlackBerry handhelds. Atoma's highly efficient architecture ensures that this advanced functionality is achieved with minimum demands on memory and battery resources. For more information, see www.abacomobile.com.
