GREEN BAY, Wis., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Shopko announced today that the company expects to open two additional Shopko Express stores in mid-2008. Both of these stores will be located in the Appleton area. The locations are as follows:
441 & College Avenue Town of Buchanan, WI Ballard Road & Evergreen Drive Appleton, WI
"This announcement is exciting in that it represents another step forward in our overall growth plans. It also reinforces our excitement about the prospects for the entire Express store strategy," said Michael R. MacDonald, Shopko Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Shopko Express is a neighborhood drug store format focused on providing professional pharmacy services, health and wellness products and information, home business solutions, photo processing, as well as a convenient assortment of food and beverages and traditional drug store merchandise. Shopko started the Express store strategy in 2005 and there are currently three Express locations.
While the merchandise mix for the new stores will be similar to other Shopko Express stores, the new store design and assortment includes changes in response to customer feedback. The company expects that the College Avenue location will include an optical center and a Bellin FastCare Clinic.
The existing Shopko Express stores are located in Howard, Wis., Ledgeview, Wis., and Port Washington, Wis.
