NEW YORK, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- DigitalLife, Ziff Davis Media's leading lifestyle technology event, today announced that this month's show will include a brand new DigitalKidz Zone dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge technology for today's tech-savvy children.
DigitalLife will take place September 27-30, 2007 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The DigitalKidz Zone is specifically designed as an environment for children and parents to explore and enjoy. For children, it is an opportunity to interact with the season's hottest tech toys and online services and decide which ones belong on "the list" this holiday season.
For parents, the DigitalKidz Zone is a place to connect with the companies creating the technology-inspired toys their children crave and to determine if they are comfortable having these brands be part of their children's digital lives.
Kids will be able to try out new products and services from Hasbro, Mattel, Fisher Price, Wowwee, JAKKS Pacific and others. Parents can visit the Parent & Child e-Parenting exhibit and meet with experts like Sharon Cindrich author of e-Parenting: Keeping Up With Your Tech-Savvy Kids.
The DigitalKidz Zone is sponsored by Hasbro, Nickelodeon, and Parent & Child Magazine.
"Youth electronics is an exploding category of the digital lifestyle. But it can be scary if you're a parent trying to keep pace with your tech-savvy kids," said Barry Myers, Director of DigitalLife. "We've tried to create an area where parents and their children can both learn and have fun. We are especially proud to have some of best known brands in the world participating in the inaugural DigitalKidz Zone."
As part of its DigitalKidz Program, DigitalLife will host the New York PTA on Saturday, September 29th. The PTA will be treated to a series of presentations on keeping kids safe online, a demonstration of Hasbro's Guitar Pro Tour in the DigitalLife Theater and a panel moderated by Parent & Child Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Stephanie Izarek, entitled Children & Technology: Finding the Proper Balance for Safety, Development and FUN!!!
As part of its broader focus on kids and technology this year, DigitalLife will also host a Tween Mashup conference on Friday, September 28th. The Tween Mashup is designed to help marketers better understand the new digital media world that today's tweens live in. Tween expert Anastasia Goodstein, founder of YPulse.com and author of Totally Wired: What Teens and Tweens Are Really Doing Online will serve as the Tween Mashup's master of ceremonies.
Speakers at the Tween Mashup represent some of the hottest tween brands in the marketplace including Nickelodeon's Neopets, Razor & Tie's KIDZ BOP, LEGO, Pokemon, Cartoon Network, Stardoll and lots more.
Tickets to the DigitalLife Tween Mashup are available at http://mashup.ypulse.com/.
